A baby handprint poem is a project that a baby and a parent can enjoy. It is a keepsake that can last a life time to show the love the bond between a mother and there baby. It also makes a great gift for friends and family.
First off, I want to say that this is going to be a messy project so if you have clothes that you would not want to get dirty on go ahead and change.
Supplies Needed:
- A bowl of water
- Finger paint
- A old shirt for your child for painting
- A picture of your child
- Glue
- A frame
'Baby's Scan' Photo/Picture Frame 5 x 3.5"
Have you ever wondered what to do with your very special baby scan photo? This 'Baby Scan' photo frame is a great way to keep it safe and have it displayed instead of being put in a drawer or at the bottom of a handbag! The satin silver color Baby Scan Photo Frame has a matt brushed aluminium finish. At the bottom of the photo frame is the words 'Baby Scan'. Approximate Measurements W: 14cm H: 13cm D: 1cm
Now before you get started you want to go and find a poem that speaks to your heart about the LOVE for your child. There a lot of free poems to be found on the internet. These are a few that I found while writing this article. I found them at here (http://www.scrapbook.com/poems/cat/7.html). Be sure to read any disclaimer or copyright information that is posted along side the poem that you choose. If you want you can copy any one of these poems from me.
Poem 1 : The miracle of love
Before you were conceived I wanted you
Before you were born I loved you
Before you were here an hour I would die for you
This is the miracle of love.
Poem 2: A Parent's Love
I sit here and watch
You grow day by day
And I often wonder
The words that I’ll say
What tidbits of wisdom
Will I impart
Will I remember
To share my heart
I plan to be there
To teach you to drive
To help you reach for
The goals that you strive
The day that you marry
I want to be there
To witness the joy
Of the love that you share
But until that day comes
I hope that you know
How much you are loved
Each day as you grow.
By Darla Foster
Poem 3: Baby Feet
My sweet, adorable babies' feet
Why are baby feet so neat?
They're precious and new and oh so sweet,
My little ones' dear little feet.
And now I make this print of your little toes...
So in years from now we all will know
How precious and tiny one day you two were
And how proud we are that we can see
Those little feet grow to be the best they could be!
Once you have the poem it is time to move onto the next step. At the end of the poem place the date and a message to your child. Something like "Love [ Child's Name]". Like I said in the beginning this is going to be a messy project so it may be a good idea to print out three or four copies in case there is a mistake.
Now take the baby handprint poem and place that on a table with a lot of room. Don't put the paint on the table or the bowl of water. The baby may kick either off the table making a huge mess. Take the finger paint and place a good amount on your childs hands and fingers. Place the hands of your baby on the paper with the poem at the exact place that you want it to appear. It might take several tries before you get it right so be sure to bring your patience.
Once the baby handprint has been imprinted on the paper be sure to rinse the remaining paint off your childs hands immediatly. This is what the bowl of water is for. Now take the picture and glue it to the corner of the paper. Clean up any excess glue that may run from the sides of the picture.
You are now finished. All is needed now is a chance for the poem to dry. Put the poem up so that no one can get to it during this stage. For the final touch frame the poem and hang it in your favorite spot. You now have a baby handprint poem ready to show all of your friends.

Supply List:
1X bought Journal with handmade paper pages
3 sheets of Handmade paper with texture / pastel color or white
1 Yards x 2 inch Satin Ribbon
30 X Assorted sized silk flat flowers
1X Baby Hand print and /or Footprint Stamp and ink pad
A small Cardboard Frame or other scrap booking items to decorate the cover
1: We are going to alter the Journal to make it into something special and unique. It really doesn't matter what the covers are like, as you are going to change them anyway.
2: Choose a color and theme for the Journal. Look through scrapbook magazines and books or ideas on the internet and get ideas from them.
3: Cut the extra handmade paper and glue it on to the front and back covers. If the Journal has a spine, don't forget to cover that too
4: Add the frame or other items you have bought to decorate the cover. If you know the Babies name then I would use my computer and a great font to write the name then glue that to the front cover and glue the frame around it.
5: Using your computer print out some inspirational baby quotes that you love, on a colored paper that works well in your journal.
6: Next, glue a silk flower on the top outside corner of each page.
7: Cut your quotes out and glue them in different places on the pages of the journal.
8: Using a pretty colored ink, stamp the handprints and footprints to the bottom of each page in turn.
9: Hand write a lovely message to the new mom in the front page of the Journal.
10: Tie the satin ribbon around the Journal and tie it in a beautiful bow.
My Baby's Journal (Journal Gift Book)
This 'journal' allows you to make notes of all the important stats and occurances as your little one is born and grows. It is rather American with references to 'Mommy' on certain pages but will ensure that all those important facts, figures and changes are recorded.
The Belly Book: A Nine-month Journal for You and Your Growing Belly (Potter Style)
This is something that you can do for your baby so when they ask what it was like durning your pregnancy, you can simply hand them this book. It's absolutely brilliant and laid out in a manner that is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to do.
Baby's Record Keeper and Memory Box
A brilliant item!! I bought this for my sister who recently had a baby girl and she was overjoyed with it. It contains everything you need to make it a lovely keepsake for the future to show your children when they grow up. There are quite a few pages - more than i imagined there would be, so there is plenty to keep mum and dad busy with all that writing space.
Now you have a lovely hand made, unique gift for the new Mother. I am sure she will love it and you for making it for her.

Planning a wedding is quite a challenge for couples. There are a lot of details to pay attention to, that it is hardly surprising that the couple becomes more stressed during those planning months. From choosing the caterer to completing the guest list, the couple has to have the stamina for even the pettiest errands.
While it can be hard for couples to plan their dream wedding, the guests do not have it any easier. Aside from choosing the appropriate attire for the ceremony, they also have to conquer a mind-boggling task: pick out the best wedding gift for the couple.
Most couples get themselves listed under at least one store's bridal registry program, so that their guests can have an easier time choosing a wedding gift. That way, the choices are already narrowed down for the attendees, and there is also a slim chance that the couple will receive the same gifts. The items included in the registry are mostly practical things ranging from towels to oven toasters.
But what happens if the couple fails to participate in a bridal registry program? The guests would have to think of more creative gift ideas. Without a template to guide a guest, it can be downright confusing for someone to choose the best wedding gift. Moreover, by giving a cliché gift, there is a greater risk that other people are going to give the couple the same gift too.
This can be quite hard for guests; they really have to think outside of the box to make sure that they will get something that the couple would use. An ingenious idea would be to think of a gift that's a step ahead of the other gifts. Why not get something for the couple's future child? After all, they are bound to start their own family soon, and getting them something for the baby would also inspire them to get baby stuff, too.
A great gift idea would be to get the couple a baby footprint and handprint kit. These are available in most online retail stores. The gift can be quite simple, but it has the potential to hold precious memories. The couple would be encouraged to record their baby's footprint and handprint, and they can frame those.
A baby footprint and handprint kit usually contains some non-toxic clay for the baby's impressions. There might be a frame or shadowbox included, so that the impression is well-protected. Other trinkets are also included in the kit to spruce up the imprint.
Getting the baby's footprint and handprint is a great way for the family to bond. The activity is both fun and intimate; it also ensures the couple that they will have something to remind them of their baby's first years. Even as the child grows up, there are still reminders of his or her early life.
The baby footprint and handprint kit is a pretty unconventional wedding gift, but it is something that most couples would really cherish. When they are already expecting a baby, they will surely remember the person who gave them the first gift for their child.

Since you’re reading this article I guess that you have already done some initial thinking about creating a baby keepsake in the form of a baby handprint and maybe you have already created a few.
If you’re still uncertain of what baby keepsake to create or even how to do it, I strongly recommend that you spend some time reading the articles and information at my site as there are a lot of things that you’ll need to consider before getting started.
It might save you some time and agony and make sure that you do it right the first time around. The first time you think of creating a baby keepsake it might seem overwhelming to you. I agree that there are a lot of things that you need to consider but once you have structured the process it isn’t a big task. It is pure fun most of the time in fact.
Large Baby Photo & Hand/Foot Imprint Impression Picture Kit
LARGE PHOTO & IMPRINT KIT. 9x13". Blue or Pink backboards are included. This easy to produce impression kit allows you to make two separate impressions of your baby's feet or hands (up to eight months old), and frame it together with a photo in the hand-made wooden display frame. Alternatively, use for one handprint of a child up to about 5 years old. Hangs on a wall or sits on a desk, shelf or mantle piece. The Imprint Dough is non-toxic and is especially formulated to be much softer than clay. There is no baking involved, this dough is air drying. A pink and blue backboard are included. Full instructions included. Supplied in a colorful gift box.
Baby Casting Kit with Solid Wood Frame
Create a baby keepsake with a baby casting kit from Creative Castings Ltd.
Perfect as new baby gifts, christening or baptism gifts the kit includes all the materials needed to create you 3D life casts at home & frame them.
Kit includes:
Baby Casting Kit including solid wood frame, Material for up to 8 baby feet/hand casts, Bronze, silver & gold paint, and full color instructions.
Baby Casting Kit - extra large photo frame
Three apertures & many display options make this our most popular gift. The 16"x10" frame is our largest & gives plenty of room for multiple baby casts or individual bigger casts. The casting kit comes in a glossy box complete with instructions, 3 paints & enough material to create up to 8 baby casts of a child up to 1 year old or 3/4 of an older child.
Impressions Kit
This kit includes everything you need to make a lasting impression of a child's hand or footprint The impression gel is soft and rubbery, so the hand or foot is simply pressed into it to make a mold Then fill the mold with the plaster mix and allow it to set before peeling the mold away to reveal the finished article Comes with clear and detailed instructions
If you have already created the baby handprint in clay, mold, bronze or maybe a baby ink handprint on paper, then you’re ready for the next step.
A baby handprint created in clay or any other material is a great way to keep a memory of your baby, but it is difficult to share with friends and family if then don’t come around often.
Creating a baby ink handprint however, will have you ship the keepsake just as easily as if you had taken a picture of the baby handprint in e.g. clay.
One thing that you will have to make sure though, is that the ink you use has to be the right one and that the paper you put the baby handprint on is of the right quality. Otherwise you’ll risk loosing the keepsake in a matter of a few years and thereby loosing the special memory.
The best way to create an easy to ship baby keepsake that’ll last for a long time is to take a picture of it. When you have created the handprint in either material you can easily do a baby handprint picture.
It doesn’t matter whether you use a normal camera or a digital camera to take the picture. If you have both to choose from then I would recommend that you use the digital one as you’re then able to edit the picture.
Taking great pictures of objects are not an easy task and therefore it might cost you a little time and a lot of photos to get it just right. Be sure to have enough light at the keepsake so that the baby handprint picture will show all the little details that makes it so special.
Unique-baby-footprint.com provides you with information on all kinds of baby keepsake related issues like baby handprint picture, baby footprint and more. Come take a look at http://www.unique-baby-footprint.com/

Baby handprint footprint crafts fall into two categories.
- The first is the crafts that you do with your baby or toddler for fun that uses their own handprints and footprints.
- The second is the crafts you do using your baby handprint footprints as keepsakes.
Baby Handprint/Footprint Crafts for Fun
My personal favourite idea for fun crafts that use your a baby handprint is finger painting. I started finger painting with my son Jamie when he was about 20 months. Now at two years old he loves nothing more than to be stripped down to his nappy and given the finger paints and a big piece of paper to play with. The first few times I needed to help him finger paint to ensure the paint went on the paper and not in his mouth, but now I just sit with him while he explores with the paints and colours by himself.
Footprint/Handprint Mug

Child's Footprint/Handprint Plate
Personalise this 8"" bone china plate with your child's name, age and handprint or footprint. Verse as standard along the rim of the plate.
Available in pink or blue."
Baby Handprint Footprint Keepsakes
The main ways to preserve your baby's footprint or handprint for future prosperity are:
- Ceramic Painting Keepsakes
- Ink Handprint Keepsakes
- Impression Material Keepsakes
- Baby Journals
Ceramic Painting Keepsakes
I'm sure once you see your baby's tiny hand and foot for the first time you will be just like I was and want to preserve it for life. My husband and I decided to take our baby to a Ceramic Cafe to capture his tiny wee footprint and had a totally enjoyable family craft morning together. The cafe has all sorts of ceramic items you can choose to paint, all while you have your coffee!
We chose a cute pair of ceramic flip flops and once our baby was asleep we put him in the front pack and were able to paint his feet and press them onto the ceramic flip flops. We used paint to write his name and his birthday on each one. We also made a plate each for his grandmothers and gave it to them from their grandson for their Christmas present. They of course totally loved them and we all treasure this tiny ceramic footprints.
Ink Handprint Keepsakes
You can also use a non-toxic ink pad to capture your baby's hand and foot prints. You can purchase baby handprint kits which have all that you need in them.
Impression Material Keepsakes
It is also possible to use impression material that you can purchase specifically for making a baby hand or footprint. You can get kits that do not require mixing, baking or gluing and can be used right out of the box and air dried overnight.
Baby Journals
Many Baby Journal Books also include a space for you to put your baby handprint and footprint.
Baby journals will also help you to totally document your baby's first year.
BABY BOY JOURNAL Sweet Dreams Memory Journal
A beautiful way to record memories of a baby boy from birth upwards Approx 150 lined pages and even a spare refill included there is plenty of space to record the important milestones Add the dates of first steps, haircuts etc and also record the funny things they come out with Imagine presenting this to him on his 18th birthday or bringing out on his Wedding Day? Baby boys grow so fast into men and before you know it - that little bundle of joy will be stomping around in size 12 shoes! Front cover is made from a heavy resin whilst the back is a padded soft leather look It measures 8" high x 6" wide and will arrive to you brand new in clear fronted box
The Belly Book: A Nine-month Journal for You and Your Growing Belly (Potter Style)
I love this book - it's fantastic, particularly when it's so hard to find a pregnancy journal that's suitable whether it's your first, second or more pregnancies. It's also the first I've seen that even has the option to record a home birth rather than hospital.
My Baby's Journal (Journal Gift Book)
This is a fantastic journal! It does say Mommy on one page, bUT that does not make any difference to me! The great thing about this journal that you don't know about it before you buy, is that you have two pages inside, one for a hand print and one for a footprint, and two pages to write a letter to your baby.

Baby hand print casting is the art of having a cast made of your babies hands. I don't know about you but I want to be able to relive my child's birth. I want to relive the first years of my child being on this earth. I also want to be able to share the first few years with family and my close friends. A baby hand print casting kit gives me the option to provide a way to show others what a great infant newborn I have gained.
So how does a baby hand print casting work?
Casting is not a new craft. Casting has been around since the roman era. When plaster statues were erected to show the likeness of past and present leaders. Even during this time it was common to have a infants feet or hands cast to commemorate the birth. The baby handprint craft has not died in this time and age. But it has expanded to casting the feet and to the belly cast of a pregnant mother.
Casting makes a great gift
What would make a grandmother more happy than having a mold cast done of there grand daughter or son hand. Grand mothers love gifts of this sort. It is a way for them to take home a part of the infant newborn. It is also a great keepsake for them to show off to all of there friends.
Casting Kit with Wooden Base
Our wonderful 3D Casting Kit supplied with a beautiful wooden base to display them on. Our easy to use 3D Casting Kit enables you to create a life size replica of your baby's hand or foot down to the very last detail the skin texture; their little nails and each crease and wrinkle. The ultimate keepsake of your little one! We also offer a unique guarantee where we will send you a free refill if you are not happy with your original casting - you just pay for the postage! Our casting kits now come beautiful presented in organza bags making them perfect for a special gift! We also feel this is much more environmentally friendly way to package our kits - we hope you agree! Our 3D casting material kit contains: Molding gel (enough to create three casts) Casting stone (enough to create three casts) 3 Casting Bags
Baby Casting Kit with Solid Wood Photo Frame
Growing more & more popular these baby casting kits are a unique gift idea for new parent or as a christening gift.
The specially made deep rebate frame will hold up to 2 casts of a baby under 1 year old on average as well as a 6"x4" photo.
Do's and Don't when purchasing a Baby hand print casting kit.
Don't get a kit that does not have a sturdy frame. There are plenty of kits that just come with the plaster to create the mold of your child's hand. Try to get a kit that comes with everything that you would need to make a quality casting. Trying to find a frame that can fit the casting could be the hardest part of this entire process. But if you get the right materials in the beginning, it should not any issues.
Baby Casting Kit with Solid Wood Frame

The birth of a child is one of a parents happiest moments in life. A new life has come into this world to bring joy and comfort to parents and family alike. Now that the baby is here it is time to put together keepsakes to celebrate the birth of this new child. Something that can remind you and family of the moment that each of you shared. Casting the childs hands and feet is a great start along with pictures.
Casting a babies hands and feet is made easy by baby handprint kits. That is the easy part. Most kits come with a baby with a baby handprint frame or a baby footprint frame depending on the type of kit that was brought. Both kits are fairly that same and either kit is interchangeable.
Another option is a baby ink footprint kit. Instead of putting a child's hand or feet in plaster just lay the hand in a baby ink mate and place it on the keepsake sheet. The babies foot implant should be directly on the keepsake.

Time never remains the same. We can't store anything in our hands for ever in life. Same implies to little babies. Every mother wants her baby to remain a baby eternally. But it is not possible. Babies can not remain babies forever. Babies grow up and parents are only left with the memories of their infancy. How many things can you just remember in your mind, your baby's first walk, first word that your baby speaks, baby's first tooth, first birthday, first crawl and so much more? You can not remember all the things for life. So hurry up and capture these memories in the form of baby keepsakes, pictures, baby photo frames and baby albums. You will always miss your baby's little fingers, hands and feet as they are so tender and gentle. Take your baby's handprints and foot prints from time to time. First time you take your baby's handprints and footprints, you will notice little hands and feet. Second time you take the handprints after a span of a few months, you will find out that your baby has developed comprehensively. You can also see your baby grow like this. This is an amazing feeling. Baby handprints and foot prints make excellent keepsakes.
Baby keepsakes are not very difficult to maintain. They need your time and attention. You just need to keep a track of all the actions of your baby. Try keeping your camera at an approachable distance. If you find that your baby is about to walk for the first time, just catch hold of your camera and capture the moment for a lifetime. You can capture hundreds of pictures of your little baby for many such memories. After you have a collection of pictures, put them in a baby album. You can decorate this album at home with beads, ribbons, glitters, lace etc. You will need to be full of zip during the first years. Babies grow really fast during the initial years. In a year or two, your baby album will be ready and you can show it to your relatives and keep it for memory.
Try the Keepsake saving box, which is a sort of a clay savings bank. This box can make a very good baby gift. A savings bank that develops with the child, it comes with a never-ending pictogram for landmarks like their heaviness and height at different ages, first walk and so on. It's the perfect little keepsake gift for little babies and their parents. This box can be used to save your baby's best dress, cute bib, milk bottle or anything you want to store for memories.
Also put one or more of your baby pictures in nice photo frames. A nice personalized photo frame is another option for making a nice baby gift. Decorate this photo frames in your family room. You can make a wall size poster of your baby's photograph and put it in your living room. These baby keepsakes are a charming way of storing your baby's memories for your old-age.
